Order of the artificial nails preparation fluids

During the construction of artificial nails, the preparation process is the base of the long-lasting and healthy artificial nails. The preparation process establishes the durability of the artificial nail, degreases and disinfects the nails. It also prevents the possible damage and contamination of the natural nails. There are many types today, depending on the condition of the nail, the type of artificial nail, and the time it is worn. This is why the correct order of artificial nails preparation fluids is very important.

In what order should the artificial nail preparation fluids be applied?

The artificial nails preparation fluids come after the removal of the previous artificial nails and the filing of the nails.

01

Disinfectant fluid

The first preparation substance is the disinfectant liquid, which has a fungicidal and dehydrating effect. It is important that the disinfectant fluid also gets on the nail plate and the skin around it.

02

Nail prep

Nail prep is a high-alcohol grease and liquid remover and Ph-balancing material. It should be applied before any artificial nail construction or tip application. The nail prep ensures that no dirt or pathogens remain on the nail plate that can hinder the adhesion of the artificial nail.

03

Primer

Primers are adhesion promoters and moisture absorbers that ensure perfect adhesion between natural nail and artificial nail material (gel, acrylic). The primer is placed on the cleaned nail plate before construction.

There are two different types of primers. The choice between the types depends on the product family of the given artificial nail materials. Acidic primer is a highly acidic, corrosive substance. When using it, be sure that it does not touch the skin, as it may cause a burning, discomfort or allergic reaction. The acidic primer dries the top layers of the nail plate, which contributes to the durability and adhesion of the artificial nail.

The other type is the acid-free primer, which forms a sticky layer on the surface of the nail, some of these types need to be bonded under a lamp.  Due to its sticky layer, the materials can adhere strongly during construction. It also provide adequate adhesion to the nail plate.

Bond gel

Bond gel is a newly developed primer. Very similar to the acid-free primer, as it also forms a double-sided, sticky surface on the nails. The difference, however, is that the Bond gel must be applied to the nail plate after the preparation materials and then cured under a UV lamp.

What you should know about artificial nails preparation fluids?

In addition to the preparation liquids, Nail Hardener gels are used for thin or weak nails. It strengthen the nail plate, thus promoting adhesion and nail resistance and flexibility. In the case of broken nails, using a building template is also a good solution for shaping nails.

It is not part of the preparation fluids, but artificial nail auxiliary fluids include the use of fixing fluid, which is one of the last steps in gel artificial nails. The sticky layer of the gel can be fixed with this liquid and a fiber-free wipe, which makes the surface of the artificial nail smooth.
